An acronym for generative art systems, Soda use ‘gas’ as a broad term covering a variety of bespoke programmed site-specific artistic configurations ranging from kinetic sculptures to screen-based works for projection or presentation on grids of video cubes.
In each the computer is given rules for the construction of imagery or behaviour and then left to run autonomously. Variants might additionally be linked to live inputs such as video cameras or even tap into the company’s integral communications systems.
