Journey is one of Soda's Projects, profiled in March 03
To celebrate the centenary of the National Art Collections Fund, Soda created “Journey”, a digital artwork premiering at ART2003.
Journey travels through the works of art that have been acquired over the past one hundred years with the help of the Art Fund. Each artwork slowly expands, focusing on an area of detail in which the computer has discovered a similarity with another artwork. The expanding detail gradually dissolves into the discovered artwork and we continue on an infinitely expanding journey with each artwork containing and revealing the next.
In the Autumn of 2006 a substantially updated version of Journey is being installed at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery featuring work from their collection.
