Sodaplay is one of Soda's Projects, profiled in April 00
Play is central to our philosophy; it fosters an experimental and uninhibited approach to creativity. Our playing created sodaconstructor, an online construction kit for building animated models, winner of the 2001 Interactive Arts BAFTA Award.
Sodaconstructor exemplifies our belief in creative play. There are no set goals, instead, the user makes their own as they experiment and create. It is this flexibility that appeals to our unusually broad audience, encouraging long term interaction and a great diversity of use.
Creative play is rewarding - users discover more as they explore. Their creations are enjoyed and built on by others in turn; a creative snowball effect that sustains the growing sodaplay community. Play makes our work fun and generates great content.
